#Day8- Count Your Blessings

(Late Post- 5/8/17)

“Good health and good sense are two of life’s greatest blessings.” Publilius Syrus

Too often I find myself upset over what it is that I don’t have rather than being thankful for what I do have. I am human so of course I will have moments of weakness, selfishness and even envy, but what I don’t want is to forget how blessed I am.

It is sometimes easy to forget just how much you already are blessed with when in a moment where you aren’t on the receiving end of a new blessing. I for one become annoyed, sad and sometimes angry when things don’t do my way.

Eventually I remember how many times blessings just happen to fall into my lap and I realize that those moments occur far more than not. I may not have the car of my dreams but I have a car. I am not working at the place of my dreams but I have a job, multiple actually.

I am always on the receiving end of a new blessing and I am sure you all are too, just don’t be afraid to count the small stuff because the rewards for them are so big!

Often times we find ourselves hoping to following our minds rather than our hearts and we soon realize it's not the case. we get so caught up in our feelings and allow the stream of tears to sway us into making short term decisions that has long term effects. Sometimes we need to take a step back from ourselves and look at things from the outside. Ask ourselves is it worth it? Will I be ok with my decision tomorrow? Once we decide that it is worth losing we need to breathe in release and let go! No looking back, no regrets, just high hopes for the future, less frowns and more smiles. My name is Jordean Matthews and I am a native of Pleasantville, NJ. This blog showcases all things that are me. My life, my talents, my thoughts, my family. It truly displays all the pieces of me.
