“Children are great imitators so give them something great to imitate.”- Unknown

Way too many times I have caught myself using foul language or raising my voice to someone in the presence of a child. Usually it’s my niece or nephews but that doesn’t make a difference. What I am inadvertently doing is showing them that it is ok to be mean, to be hateful, and to have no regards for people’s feelings.

It is my duty as a woman, an aunt and a reflection of God to be the change I want to see. I can’t throw stones and then get mad when I see them kicking pebbles. Most won’t get that analogy but that’s ok.

I am responsible in many ways for how the kids of tomorrow turn out. Not just me but all of us. It is important to always save face when in the presence of a child because they will always try to be who you show them you are.

Knowing this, let’s give them something to be proud of.
